Looks like we are not ready for Spring Cleaning quite yet…

During snowstorms, it is a tradition to stock up on comfort food, binge-watch our favorite shows, get ready to shovel, and of course as Clean Freaks we… Clean!

So this week, we are going to talk about countertops. Quartz countertops to be precise.

Over our three-day winter ‘event,’ dirty countertops can start to look like a canvas for modern art - except instead of paint, it's a mishmash of ketchup, crumbs, and whatever else you've been cooking up in the kitchen.

So here are 3 Tips to keep your Quartz Countertops looking like they are polished to perfection and gleaming like glass!

3 Tips to Clean Quartz Countertops!

1. The Quicker the Better!

Always wipe up spills as soon as possible.

Quartz is a non-porous material, but it can still stain if spills are left to sit for too long. Use a soft cloth or sponge. Avoid using anything abrasive. While quartz is a hard material, it can still be scratched if you are not careful.

2. Careful With Cleaning Products!

Never use super acidic or alkaline cleaning products. These can damage the surface of the countertop.

We prefer to simply use dish soap and warm water or a specialized cleaner.

HERE is the cleaner we like to use on Quartz Countertops.

Pro Tip: Avoid abrasive cleaners and abrasive scrub pads - These can leave permanent scratches on the surface.

3. Watch Out for Wipes!

When it comes time to disinfect your quartz countertops, be careful with disinfectant wipes.

Some wipes can cause yellowing.

We recommend using this DYI:

2 parts rubbing alcohol

1 part water

Apply with a spray bottle
