5 Tips for Cleaning Your Shower 🚿

Everybody needs a fresh, clean start to the day. Keeping a clean shower can be challenging. Here's how you can clean that up!

Hello, our fellow Clean Freaks! Another Tuesday is here! If you had a busy day, sit back, relax and let us ‘shower’ you with knowledge! Whether you are a ‘hot shower’ ease into the day person or a ‘cold shower’ shock the system person, we’ve got you covered! Everybody needs a  fresh, clean start to the day. But we all know that keeping a clean shower can be challenging. Here's how you can clean that up!

Here are 5 Pro Tips to have a sparkling shower waiting for you each morning! (or evening!)

1. Choose the Right Cleaner

Every shower is different. Some have tile and grout; some are fiberglass; others have porcelain tubs, glass doors, shower curtains, metal framing and more! We have seen it all! Some cleaners have a high risk of causing damage. As always, we recommend testing a new cleaning product in a small inconspicuous area to make sure it is safe to use.

Here are our three go-to products:

  • Our DIY Mix: 1 Cup White Vinegar / 1 Cup Water / 1 TSP Dawn Dish Soap / 1 Empty Spray Bottle

Do NOT use either of these cleaners on Natural Stone. The acidness can cause damage to the stone.

2. Choose the Right Scrubber

Pick a Scrubber that will NOT scratch the surface. As many of you know, our go-to hand scrubber is a Scrub Daddy Or, if you want to speed things up try this drill brush.

3. Use a Razor Blade Scraper (Very Carefully!)

If there is a lot of build-up in your shower, this is an excellent option. Make sure that the surface is wet, use the razor at an angle, go very slowly, and be careful not to cut yourself or scratch the surface.

4. Clean Non-Slip Shower Floors.

As Pro-Cleaners we have tried everything for this challenging clean! The Non-Slip ‘bumps’ and uneven surfaces makes it very difficult to reach built up grime.

Our go to product is Bar Keepers Friend Soft Cleaner and a soft bristle brush. Apply the cleanser and scrub in a circular motion. The creamy consistency does a great job of getting into the bumpy texture and cleaning out the grime.

If you have a drill brush attachment, this can really speed this up and is a back saver!

5. Rinse and Wipe Down the Shower

A plastic cup works great to rinse down the shower, especially in the areas the showerhead or faucet can't reach. We use a cup with a smooth edge and rinse the shower by holding the cup to the shower wall. It prevents splashing and getting you all wet.

To finish up, dry the shower with a clean and dry microfiber towel. This helps remove any remaining residue or dirt that could've been missed and really makes it shine! ✨

There you have it! A clean shower to start or end the day!

See you next week!
