Cleaning Checklist for a Carefree Getaway โœˆ

There's nothing worse than returning from a relaxing trip to a messy house!

Welcome back! It's Tuesday, and summer is almost here! We know that many of you are eagerly waiting for your much-needed vacation, planning for beach trips, mountain adventures, or even just a calming staycation. But while you're dreaming of those relaxing days, we're here to help you with something that's probably not as exciting but equally important - preparing your home for your vacation.

Now, we don't want you returning from a fabulous trip to a messy house! So, we're dedicating this week's newsletter to share our top tips to help you prep your home before you jet off. Trust us, a little planning before your vacation can make your return feel like an extension of your relaxing trip. Let's dive in!

#1 Freshen Up the Fridge:

Begin your pre-vacation clean by tackling the fridge. Check for any perishables that will expire while you're away. This not only prevents you from returning to a science experiment in your fridge but also saves energy as a fuller fridge uses more electricity.

#2 Trash Be Gone:ย

The next step is to ensure all the trash cans in the house are emptied. It might seem obvious, but it's easy to overlook in the pre-vacation hustle. Removing the trash helps avoid unpleasant odors when you return and keeps your home pest-free.

#3 Laundry Load-Off:

There's nothing like returning home and having to face a pile of dirty laundry. Why not tackle this before you leave? Doing your laundry and ensuring all clothes are put away neatly can be a great way to avoid post-vacation stress. Plus, it will give you a head start on all the holiday clothes that will need washing upon your return.

#4 Plumbing Precautions:

How about some preventive maintenance? Before you set off on your vacation, consider pouring a little baking soda and vinegar down your drains. This small step helps to clean your pipes and prevent any unpleasant odors from stagnant water while you're away. Another thing we like to do is to turn off our main water supply. This helps prevent any unwanted water damage from potential leaks especially if you're going to be away for an extended period of time.

#5 Outdoor Prep:

If your vacation is going to be a long one, arranging for some outdoor maintenance might be a good idea. Having someone mow your lawn, water your plants, and generally keep an eye on your property can be a great help. Your garden will appreciate the care, and it can also be a good deterrent for any potential burglars.

#6 Safety Checks:

Lastly, do a final safety check. Walk around your home, ensure all appliances are unplugged, and windows are secured. It's always better to be safe than sorry, and it gives you peace of mind while you're trying to enjoy your vacation.

Now, you're all set for your summer vacation fun! Hopefully, these simple tips can help you enjoy your time away knowing that your home is in order and ready to welcome you back. ๐ŸŒด๐Ÿ™‚
