๐Ÿ‘‹ Hey Clean Freak Fam

Brandon here.

When you think about cleaning your oven what comes to mind?

Perhapsโ€ฆGloves up to your elbows, a stern warning label and every window in the house open because of the fumes?

Many times people can think the stronger the cleaning solution the better the cleaning result.

While it is true that sometimes we may need to bring out the heavy hitters for deep cleans or baked on layers of grease and grime. However, for most maintenance cleans the good news is you do not need harsh cleaners, scary fumes, or a full afternoon of scrubbing to fix it.

You just need the right method and a few natural products that actually work. As an added bonus, you probably already have everything you need sitting in your pantry right now!

ย Letโ€™s Go! ๐Ÿ‘‡

๐Ÿงฝ Step One: Start Cold and Prep Smart

Before you clean anything, make sure the oven is completely cold.

โœ”๏ธ Remove the racks
โœ”๏ธ Wipe out loose crumbs with a dry cloth and/or vacuum larger debris
โœ”๏ธ Clear the surface before adding moisture

This simple dry clean prevents you from turning crumbs into greasy sludge. It is the same reason we sweep before we mop.

Pro Tip: Prep many times is as important as the clean.ย

๐Ÿฅฃ Step Two: Baking Soda Does the Heavy Lifting

If natural cleaning products had a hall of fame, baking soda would be front and center.

Baking soda is gentle, non toxic, and incredibly effective at breaking down baked-on grease. Mix baking soda with a small amount of water until you have a thick paste. Spread it over the interior of the oven, avoiding heating elements.

๐Ÿ•’ Let it sit for 30 - 60 minutes. This is where people rush and lose results. Time is what makes this work.

While you wait, the baking soda can even loosen grease that has been stuck there for months.

โœจ Step Three: Vinegar Is the Finisher

The next day, wipe out the baking soda paste with a damp microfiber cloth. You will already see a massive difference.

For any leftover residue, lightly spray white vinegar. The gentle fizz helps lift what remains and leaves the surface clean and fresh.

Important reminder. Vinegar is a finishing step, not the main cleaner.

๐Ÿšฟ Step Four: Do Not Skip the Racks and Door

A clean oven interior with dirty racks is like washing your car but leaving muddy tires.

๐Ÿงบ Oven racks - Soak them in hot water with baking soda and a few drops of dish soap. Let them sit for a few hours, then scrub gently and rinse.

๐ŸชŸ Oven door glass - Use the same baking soda paste. Let it sit for 30 to 60 minutes, then wipe clean. This alone can make your oven look brand new.

๐Ÿ” Step Five: Maintenance Changes Everything

Here is the secret most people miss.

A quick wipe after spills and a light monthly clean will keep your oven from ever getting out of control again. That is how professionals avoid deep cleaning the same appliance over and over.

Small habits beat big scrubbing sessions every time.

๐ŸŒŸ The Clean Takeaway

A clean oven smells better, cooks better, and honestly makes your whole kitchen feel lighter and healthier. It is one of those cleaning wins that gives you momentum to keep going.
